Good evening everyone,
It is new tattoo alert!! A lot of things have happened in my life lately and I decided to add some ink on me. I want it on my neck! I have a big tattoo on my back that isn’t done yet and it shall be over by the summer but I felt the urge to express myself once more with a permanent stamp but this time in my name.
The following tattoo will be dedicated to my parents. For now hear me out on this tat!
I want to dedicate the process of healing and the celebration of women to Switzerland. Many may wonder why Switzerland?
Well, although I take full pride in my Congolese roots, I was born and raised in Switzerland. I didn’t understand the beauty of the value of our upbringing until I got older. So many things such as the way we treat and care for others. Respect for our elders. The respect we teach our children to have amongst themselves and politeness. Values in cleanliness all to way to the importance of education.
A lot of these are heavily influenced by my African roots when it comes to me and the way I apply life learned discipline in my life but many aspect of who I am come from my upbringing coming from Switzerland.
Before we go any further, do not allow your ignorance to blind the way I wrote this post with your perspective of what you may read from me.
What I am trying to express is that I had the exact amount of cultural influences in my life to enable me to find pride in my identity and knowledge of self.
Back to the subject at hand, the new ink that celebrates Switzerland and Congo. Both countries have helped me and supported me in time I almost lost value in myself. For this, I am thankful.
The tattoo says: “🇨🇭 05.16 began the journey to self love and empowerment from 🇨🇩 strong roots that made magic born on 12.08.1987”
I thank Congo-Kinshasa for giving me the strength I carried throughout the years. I strongly believe that some people are genetically stronger than other both emotionally and physically. I would not have survived the things I lived without that genetic and cultural dime of Congo. It is a fact to me.
Also, I can not live this life and pretend that Switzerland did not save me from myself in numerous occasions. They never saw color when it came to me. They fought for me each time they could. They gave me purpose on a personal level and they have supported me my goals. Switzerland will always be home. My children are home. For this I feel honored to be Swiss.
Unlike the UK, Switzerland and France, that I know of are countries that protect women. England will damage a person’s life to the death and blame them for the fact that the person became broken. In England, a victim would be treated like a criminal. There is no such thing as a “color blind” and “Equal” system in the UK.
However, Switzerland is all for the protection of women and children. It is a country that caters to anyone, male or female, with mental health and needs. They want their nation to be somewhat healthy. They have an amazing culture and very children friendly in their upbringing.
They promote business savvy minds and higher pay. They value education and reward.
I am not a feminist but I am proud to be from a country that has the values and culture such as the one they have, both Congo and Switzerland.

Thank you Switzerland for all that you are and thank you my beloved Congo for all that you gave me. This African Princess in me would not be without this strength that only you create and provide.
To all the Congolese people all over the world, you are genetically gifted.
